About Us
ULBC CasaBuilders is a growing group of Christian volunteers based in
the San Francisco Bay area, northern CA. Our volunteers are from many different
churches from all over California. Our common bond is our love for our Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ and a heart to serve others by building homes and churches
for needy famillies and communities in the Tijuana area of Mexico.
History
Established in 2001, Casabuilders began with 18 people building a single
home in May 2001. The next year, we expanded to facilitate 3 trips and to build
5 homes for needy families. As our casabuilder family began to grow, we added
more trips to accomodate the desire in the hearts of Christians who want to share
in a short-term missions experience. By 2005 we had a trip every month of the
year. .ULBC Our trips are typically a 4-day adventure
(first and last days are travel, second and third day are building days).
On all our
building
trips
we
always
invite
the family towork with us and to be part of the CasaBuilder
teams. We also invite teens from City of Angels orphanage to come and build with us on Saturdays. You'll quickly discover that Casabuilders is much more about relationship building than the actual building.
Future Goals
We have scheduled trips for 2010, so be sure to check your calendar. Even if there is a group scheduled, if you desired to come, please join us.
Most of our 2010 trips will be focused on our Mi Casa Children's Home project. We have plans to finish the bathrooms and kitchen by summertime. We'll have accomodations for up to 30 at the Paul and Liza Spates Visitor Center on the Mi Casa site.
Back by popular demand, Casabuilders has 2 HOUSE building trips. One in June 2010 and the other scheduled for Oct/November.
